The cake was wonderful! So fresh and delicious...I actually had a piece at the end of the night and savored each bite! The tasting was professional and many ideas were given! Loved everything about the Little!

If you want your wedding cake delivered to your reception then don’t use The Little Bakery in Rochester, NY. It is the worst vendor I have ever experienced. My advice to all brides out there is to stay away from The Little Bakery.
Read below for more details on how not only was my cake not delivered until hours into my wedding reception (we had no notification as to if it was even going to come at all) but how the owner himself who time and time again said that he would “make it right” with us continually jerked us around, treated us with disrespect and continued to cause emotional distress for weeks following the wedding.
The Little Bakery’s owner himself admitted that he “Forgot” to deliver my wedding cake to the venue on the day of my wedding. He had forgotten to place it in his calendar to deliver.
The reception began at 5pm and not only had the wedding coordinator at the venue been attempting to contact the Little Bakery throughout the day since the cake was nowhere to be found but when members of the bridal party and my family were notified of the issue around 5:30 pm (the cocktail hour started at 5pm) massive amounts of calls were made and e-mails were sent. No one answered any of the calls or e-mails (in fact an e-mail sent by my maid of honor from her phone on the wedding date finally showed as read more than three weeks later by the little bakery.) The reception began and entrances were made by the bridal party at 6:15 – still no cake. The served dinner occurred from 6:45 until 7:45 – still no cake. The sun was beginning to set in Rochester and my new husband and I were out taking pictures with the photographer when I was told that the cake had finally arrived. So that had to be roughly around 9pm for a reception that started at 5pm and ended at 11pm. Unacceptable.
To answer any questions on if I had paid, etc. – Yes, I did – In fact, I paid my balance in full to the Little Bakery over a month in advance of my wedding date. I also book and signed the contract for the cake over 11 months in advance of the wedding date. I had completed follow up calls and e-mails confirming the details of the cake, timeline of events on the wedding day and delivery to the venue throughout the 11 months and in the week prior to the wedding date.
What makes matters worse in this situation is the level of professionalism on behalf of The Little Bakery not only on the wedding day but in the weeks following. I never spoke to the owner of the Bakery that delivered my wedding cake on the wedding day but the message was relayed from my Mother that when things settled down he wanted me to call him so he could “make things right.”
So, I did call the owner – I called 3 days after my wedding. In that conversation I was calm, explained how upset I was regarding the situation and how that event caused me so much emotional distress that I had actually was sobbing. This caused the delay of the entrances of the bridal party and my new husband and I into the reception. that time the owner was understanding and verbally agreed that his way of “making it right” to us was to refund half the cost of the cake and to also send a $100 gift card to us for use at the bakery. He took down our addresses and noted that he would put them in the mail that day. I waited two weeks for something to arrive in the mail – giving the Little Bakery the benefit of doubt that something could have happened in the mail. When nothing arrived after two weeks, I called the owner’s personal cell phone number that he had given me and left a message inquiring on the status of the mailing. I never received a return phone call or message. I let another week pass trying to be nice and thinking maybe he was just on vacation or something. Three weeks following our initial phone call following my wedding where the verbal agreement was made I still had not received the half of our money back or the gift card. I called the bakery and also the owner’s cell phone and left messages with both. In speaking to the Bakery I asked if the owner had been on vacation to which the worker said nope he had been working all week. Thus leading me to the conclusion that the owner was dismissing the mistake his business had made and that I was not a valued customer.
I did receive a call back on the same day I left my last message from the owner – to which I was given extreme attitude, a raised voice by the owner and dismissed as a customer that he had made an agreement with. In fact I was lied to by him saying that he had called two days following my voicemail left the week prior and that a message had been left (I check voicemail daily and had no such voicemail.) What showed me even more that this guy was jerking me around was that he said he would be getting it out to us very soon to which I asked for more specifics. He explained that the bookkeeper was in on Wednesday’s (this conversation occurred on a Wednesday and so did our initial conversation and the follow up call.) Naturally, I asked that since today was Wednesday I could then expect to see the check and gift card in the mail within 7 days (giving them MORE than enough time to arrive) he explained that no they were only there for a few hours and were very busy so it would have to be done the next week. This is ridiculous to me quite frankly. The Little Bakery had had 4 days (totaling 4 weeks of time passed) of the bookkeeper in office where the check could have been cut and then shipped to us to which they did nothing.
So to put summarize as to why I am telling the world about my experiences with The Little Bakery….
First – My Wedding cake was NOT delivered as agreed upon and executed in a contract signed by both parties.
Second- I feel as though the owner has been taking advantage of the fact that I live several states away and am unable to physically meet face to face to resolve the issue as that he can jerk me around and not carry though on the agreement that was made to refund half of our money and send the $100 gift card.
Third – It is not o.k. it a situation where your business is at fault in a consumer services industry to raise your voice at a customer and treat them with disrespect as the owner of the Little Bakery has done to me.
Brides – your wedding is one of the happiest days of your life and you should never have to micro-manage your vendors for them to simply do their job as agreed upon in a contract. Your job on your wedding day is to love your new husband and celebrate with your family and friends. Choose reliable, competent vendors that will adhere to the mutually agreed upon contract. So, stay away from the Little Bakery for from this brides experience they are unable to fulfill even the simplest agreement.

Can't say enough about the cake, it was real eye-candy. It was also the best cake I have ever tasted, so many emotions couldn't have been summed up nicely with the cake. Ordering was very easy, and the service of Little Bakery is top notch.

My cake was included in the price for my reception at the Radisson. I had the almond soak with apricot and raspberry filling soooo good. The design was awesome too, exactly what I wanted.
We saved the top layer for our one year anniversary and it still tasted great!

Our wedding cake from the Lil Bakery was included with the wedding venue. No complaints there. Cake was good and we got exactly what we wanted.

I loved the Little Bakery, their cake was absolutely delicious. They were very responsive and flexible with my demands; I had requested a three-tier cake with a separate sheet cake to cut costs and they allowed me four separate flavors. Everyone marveled at how good the cake tasted and they were really friendly and helpful, not to mention the free anniversary cake was a bonus. :)

The best tasting cake ever, if that is important to you-go with Little. I did not want complex decoration, which is good because I don't think they can do too much beyond the traditional, judging from their picture books. I wanted simple and delicious and that is exactly what I got. We had a 3 tier square with white cake/vanilla buttercream and red velvet/cream cheese buttercream. We froze our top and on our 6 month anniversary we ate a little (we were sure it would be disgusting) and I swear it was as good as the wedding day. A tip: freeze your topper on a plate with no wrapping until the frosting is solid, the wrap in like 10 layers of foil.

I had so many people tell me how amazing the cake and pasteries were. I had two small complaints. The first was that I don't think the cake turned out as "pretty" as I would want it to have. The second is that they wanted to charge me $100 for a small fondant design, explaining how hard it was. I've made fondant...its not hard enough to warrant a $100 charge!

I had an Terrible Experience with this Bakery. I Had my Wedding at The Clarion Riverside Hotel in Rochester and this was one of two Bakers that they worked with that we could choose from. We did a Tasting and decided to go with them. However, When it came down to the wire I could NEVER get a call back from these people. The only time they called me was when they wanted payement. The Day of the Wedding, My cake Topper was not even able to be on the Cake. Cake was so soft and Melted that the Topper Kept Falling off and Breaking off The Top Layer of the Cake. And the silk Flowers that I gave them to put on the Cake Looked TERIIBLE! They did not listen to how I wanted them decorated on the cake at all. It was so Awful. The Cake tasted good and that was about it.

Little Bakery is an exceptional wedding cake provider. Their cake and frosting is so moist, not overly sweet, and was the best I had tried anywhere in Rochester. They followed my directions on my desire for the look of the cake and were incredibly easy to work with. We also had wonderful, tasty cookies from the Little Bakery. Best of all, the value of the cake was amazing for the budget we had. I always take a trip back there when I am in town. I love it!

Our cake was incredible, really yummy and beautiful. Reasonable price, comparable to the others in the area. And, they said we could come back on our one year anniversary and they'd give us a free top (as opposed to thawing out a freezerburned cake).

You get what you pay for. Although, The Little Bakery was more than we what had budgeted, it was definitely worth it. They were excellent, and had the best cake by far. I highly recommend The Little Bakery

I was completely thrilled with the service I received from the Little Bakery. They were able to accommodate all of my requests and they have the best tasting cakes in town. My husband and I are not big fans of butter cream frosting but theirs is delicious! The cake was so good that instead of saving our top tier in the freezer for our anniversary, we shared it with friends the next day at our post-wedding brunch!
