We could not possibly be more pleased with our choice to hire Paul as our wedding photographer. Our photos turned out more amazing than we could have possibly imagined. He captured every moment of the day and was an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband is a cinematographer and very hard to please when it comes to photography, and he is blown away by Paul's photographs. Our guests are still raving about the pictures and love reliving the day through them. I would highly recommend Paul, you will not be disappointed!

Paul is absolutely one-of-a-kind!!! As a fellow photographer and optics engineer, the toughest part about our wedding was deciding on a photographer. I scoured through nearly all the photographers I could find online in the state of NY, and Paul was the only photographer who impressed me with a synergy of artistic vision backed up by an uncanny knowledge about optics and photography. Paul’s intuition was always right where the energy was; a fly on the wall to what was going on, yet capturing the essence of our special day. We felt very natural around Paul in doing some shots with just the two of us, and Paul’s sense of humor really kept the mood light and fun the whole time we worked with him. I just finished looking through the hundreds of absolutely amazing pictures Paul took at our wedding, and I'm already dying to go back to look at each one again and again. Many people probably think a video of an event is the only way to see it in motion, but somehow, Paul's photos actually give life and movement to still images. Our photos truly tell the story of our wedding and express the love, fun, and happiness of our day. I also must say, not only is Paul an incredibly gifted photographer, he is a wonderful person who we loved working alongside. I was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding where he was shooting, he was the photographer at my wedding, and he will be shooting my sister's wedding next September. We love Paul!

Paul's photos speak for themselves, but his work ethic and shooting style do not get enough attention. For Geoff and I, spending time with our guests and truly experiencing our wedding day was an absolute priority. We did not want to lose our wedding day to tedious picture taking – thus, Paul was a natural choice for us. Paul has a great sense of humor and he is very friendly. The whole day I never doubted that he’d capture every moment that was important to us. His shooting style is incredibly unobtrusive. Even though Paul was everywhere and constantly taking pictures, many of our guests didn’t even realize we had a photographer. (This must be how he captured even our most shy guests giggling and having a good time!) He did not miss anything and he always seemed to be just a few steps away whenever we needed him. Taking pictures with our bridal party turned out to be one of the most fun parts of our day, which says a lot because I hate having my picture taken and I was secretly dreading this part of the day. But, Paul was wonderful – it seemed to us like he was a long lost friend who was there to spend the day with us. He never told us how to stand, what to do, or how to look. In fact, all he asked us to do was laugh and enjoy our time together. So we did, and it was great – like any other day, except we had a limo, pretty dresses and the best photographer in the world! We were like superstars! I can’t say enough how much fun we had taking pictures, and after everything our bridal party had done for us, we were thrilled to be able to spend quality time with them. Every time I look through our pictures, I am reminded of the three main reasons we were drawn to Paul: 1) As a photographer, he always maintains the essence and integrity of "wedding photography" while simultaneously being creative and adventurous -I think this is what truly sets him apart from other photographers. 2) He capture moments that would otherwise be missed. And 3) He gives meaning to moments that words cannot describe. When I go through my wedding photos, I remember exactly how I felt in that moment - and I really, truly could not have asked for more. Thank you, Paul!!!

Paul is so artistically talented and professional. He did an amazing job for our wedding and the pictures speak for themselves. He seemed to capture every moment and do so in such a way that through each picture we relive the moment. Fotoimpressions was our selected photographer for our June 2010 wedding. Paul Van Hoy and team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Paul captured our special moments and every nuance of the evening. It was so fun to look through our pictures to see not only ourselves, but the great time our guests were having, the venue, the food, etc. Paul was able to showcase every detail, which was very rewarding to us given the time we spent planning our day! Paul photographed our wedding on August 14th, 2009. I am genuine when I share that of all the money spent on this wonderful day, Paul was our greatest investment. My husband, family, and I could not believe how beautifully Paul documented our day! I think what struck us most was how he really captured our family and friends in such a natural and true way. We also couldn't believe the moments he captured! There was a moment when my father and I were speaking on the side of the dance floor. It was a moment that meant a great deal to me and I had no idea Paul was around to even see us, but he captured it in such a lovely way. Paul spent almost the whole day with me. His friendly, polite, and unobtrusive way put me at great ease. My husband commented on how he couldn’t believe all the moments Paul captured because he hardly remembers even seeing him around ceremony or reception! The album he arranged for us is unbelievable. We feel so fortunate to have our memories so beautifully documented and displayed. So many people have inquired about our photographer after viewing our photos. I truly cannot say enough great things!

Paul... Wow.... Words cannot express how much I admire this artist. My wedding was shot by him over 2 years ago-- and I am still in awe of his work. I have these priceless memories that will forever be frozen in time through his masterful photos. Paul managed to capture every emotion in his pictures. He's unobtrusive and you almost forget that he's there - and yet, he gets everything! Not only is he incredibly talented and experienced - but he's a great guy! You need to have chemistry with your photographer - and he does that with ease. He has such a great personality! Easy to get along with, everyone loves him! My husband Sam and I had Paul as our photographer in June of 08 and I can't imagine it any other way. As is obvious from his website, he is an extremely gifted photographer. A true artist. We look at our pictures frequently and are still impressed! And all our friends and family still talk about how great Paul is. After the big day is done, the flowers die, the cake is eaten but what you have left is the memories captured in photos and I couldn't be happier with Paul or the finished product. he caught every moment. But beyond purely gushing over the pictures, Paul is a fantastic human being with whom I try to keep in touch to this day. No doubt, it's kind of a strange concept: you meet a guy once, pay him a bunch of money and he comes and takes photos of you in your most private and vulnerable moments. But with Paul it felt like the most natural thing in the world. He hung out with me most of the day as i got ready. He has a natural sense of how to adapt to an environment so a lot of the time I barely noticed he was there. And when I did notice him, it was because I was having fun chatting with him in the most relaxed way. In short, he was a calming, welcome, sometimes invisible presence (that held true all day long.). And the photos he took while I was getting ready are some of the most beautiful, fun, surprising and spontaneous of the whole event. I'm so glad he was there to capture them. Anyone would be lucky to have Paul shoot their wedding. He is a gem.
